Alongside the Saint Siffrein Cathedral, on the great square, formerly called the “Palace Square” and now called General de Gaulle Square, stands the former Episcopal Palace, which became the Law Courts in 1801.

The present Law Courts building houses magnificent decorations by Romanelli from the 17th century - relics of sumptuous era when the building was both the Bishop's residence and a temple of Italian art.
