Cherries grow on the slopes of Mont Ventoux and on the Monts de Venasque, and benefit from the appellation “Monts de Venasque” and “Chérise”.

'Mont de Venasque' & 'Cherise' appellation

Some one hundred growers produce the excellent cherries which are grown in the sunniest areas of the Comtat Venaissin. Specialized farmers hand down their expertise from one generation to the next, cultivating the cherry trees in the traditional way, ensuring the quality and flavor of the “red diamond”. In early spring the blossoming cherry orchards are white as snow, and as of mid-May, the sun-kissed, sugar-gorged fruit are on the markets. Cherries are delightful as is, in jams, pies and the Provencal clafoutis.
