The AOC vineyards of Beaumes de Venise spring up in the very heart of the Comtat Venaissin in Provence, at the foot of the Dentelles de Montmirail in the southern Côtes du Rhône.

The AOC vineyards of Beaumes de Venise have two crus, two colours and two characters.

Vines and olive trees are grown side by side on unspoilt land by wine producers who combine thoughtful agriculture with their love for this out-of-the-ordinary and cherished region.

The Beaumes de Venise Red Wines

The Beaumes de Venise reds obtain their character from a variety of grapes, the two main ones being the Grenache noir, which makes up a minimum of 50% of the grape varieties, and the Shiraz, representing 25 to 50% of the grape varieties. There are also Mourvèdre grapes, as well as other secondary grape varieties such as the Carignan, Cinsault and Counoise. The white grape varieties, which can make up to 10% of the wine, complete the range and will provide an original touch that will be characteristic of the wine-producer.

Beaumes de Venise's Vin Doux Naturel Muscat

The sandy clay soil produced from the erosion of ‘safre’, a soft rock from the Miocene Period (15 million years) is the preferred area for Muscat, giving it its subtlety.

Respecting strict production conditions (cultivation methods, yield, natural sugar content, etc.) gives Muscat its exceptional qualities.

The Beaumes de Venise Muscat, a Vin Doux Naturel, starts out like any wine, but its fermentation and the transformation of sugars into alcohol are stopped by adding around 10% pure alcohol (this process is known as mutage). This allows some of the sweetness, and especially the fruitiness, of the grapes to be retained.

The Beaumes de Venise Muscats provide a magnificent variety of colours from pale to golden yellow. They are particularly fragrant, with the flowers, citron and exotic fruits creating an explosion of flavours.

They are best enjoyed fresh, served with a starter of blue cheese, or with dessert, and beautifully accompany exotic cuisine.

Ideal serving temperature: between 6 and 8°C. Storage in a wine cellar: Do not hesitate to let it age for many years in the cellar, as the Beaumes de Venise Muscats keep their freshness and develop a mentholated flavour.
