Musée Sobirats
Musée Sobirats

The Sobirats Museum, housed in a lovely 18th century city mansion, displays the way of life in a rich urban home, with its tapestries, furnishings and faience.

The collections of the decorative arts from the city of Carpentras have been gathered under one roof in the former private home of the Armand de Châteauvieux family, where the lovely drawing rooms display gypsum moulding patterns typical of the Comtat Venaissin. Discover regional furnishings, a series of Aubusson tapestries, faience from Marseille and Moustiers, landscape paintings and aristocratic portraits.

The museum is named after the last Count of Sobirats, a generous donor. The path through the house recreates the warm and intimate atmosphere of patrician homes from the 18th century.
