The baptistery was built in the 6th century, (possibly on the ruins of a Roman temple) and underwent work in the 11th, 12th and 13th centuries. It was restored in the 19th century by 'Monuments Historiques'.

It has a quatrefoil façade (4 apses) with a floor plan shaped like a Greek cross.

Its decoration of blind arches rests on ancient reused columns.

On the ground there is an octagonal baptismal font that was placed there long ago.

The capital of the west apse dates from the Merovingian era.

In the north apse you can see irregular holes where acoustic jars made of fine pottery would have been found (they are no longer here today). They were used to improve the acoustics.
