Malaucène

Standing at the foot of Mount Ventoux, the village of Malaucène boasts many assets to be discovered: medieval architecture, a courtyard under the shade of plane trees, plenty of shops, the source of the River Groseau, a number of listed monuments, and so much more.

    Must-see:

    - The fortified church, its surroundings and its magnificent architecture,

    - The Chapelle du Groseau which dates from the 11th century and is classed as a Monument Historique. This monastery would be used by the first Pope of Avignon, Clément V, as his summer residence.

    - The source of the Groseau made Malaucène. Experience the freshness of the location on summer days, the calm in the middle of the fields and woods and the wild and fragrant herbs that grow at the foot of the rocks and enchant those walking by. It is the perfect spot for a picnic to reach the summit of Ventoux!

    - Malaucène and its Calvaire (14 small oratories housing a depiction of the Way of the Cross). This site is one-of-a-kind. Make a stop here !

Climb up its slopes and cobblestones to find a panoramic view. There is also an orientation table that explains the view.

    Must-do:

    Picnic in Groseau

    Wednesday morning market

Enjoy a coffee on the terrace and watch the bustling village life (and the cyclists pass by)
