Walkers, would you like to enjoy the beautiful countryside of the Vaucluse ? Please be aware of a few important factors.

Each year hunting seasons are defined by the Préfecture du Vaucluse. For the season 2022/2023 hunting for larger animals will be from the 11th of September at 7am until the 28th of February 2023 end of day.

However it is likely that you may encounter other hunting outside of these dates. Here is a non-exhaustive list of some of them.
- Aubignan : For the zone ‘l’Espace Naturel Sensible de Belle-Ile’, wild boar hunts possible (dates here)
- Beaumes de Venise : From the 10th of January 2023, every saturday and Sunday.
- Bedoin : Every day until the 31st of March.
- Caromb : Every day.
- Carpentras : (unknown for the moment)
- Gigondas : Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday until the 10th of January.
- Malaucène : Every day (check with the hunting club St Hubert)
- Sarrians : No hunting (private fields and land only)
- Vacqueyras : No hunting.
- Venasque : Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday (large animals).

To walk in all safety here are some precautions to take beforehand :

- Enquire : Ask for information from the Tourist Offices, the ONF (Forestry office), the ‘Espaces Naturels Sensibles’ or from the local hunting federation if you have any doubts. - Be aware : Listen whilst walking for noises that could be linked with hunting, look for signs indicating that a hunt is taking place. Make yourself seen and heard when you see hunters. Stay on the main paths, keep dogs on a lead and try to wear clothes with visible colours (eg yellow safety vest).
